President Kaljulaid to visit China next week

President Kersti Kaljulaid will be making a working visit to the People's Republic of China next week, during which she will be meeting with President Xi and Prime Minister Li Keqiang and taking part in the annual technology and innovation conference of the World Economic Forum in Tianjin.

As part of the visit the Head of State will also be attending a round table of Estonian and Chinese entrepreneurs and meeting with Chinese students who are learning Estonian.

Ambassador Marten Kokk participated in the opening ceremony of Saare Erek factory in Jingmen

On 8 September, Estonian Ambassador in the People’s Republic of China H. E. Marten Kokk participated in the opening ceremony of milled log and element houses factory of Estonian manufacturer Saare Erek in Jingmen, Hubei province. The 15000 m2 factory which employs approximately 100 employees has become the largest foreign employer from Baltic countries in the People’s Republic of China.

Enterprise Estonia has assisted Saare Erek in the process of establishing the factory.

Estonia opens new Visa Application Centers in thirteen Chinese cities

Thirteen Estonian Visa Application Centres will be open to public on 18th July, making it possible to apply Schengen visas all together in fifteen Chinese cities when travelling to Estonia.

The first two Estonian visa application centres in Beijing and Shanghai were opened last year. The thirteen new centres are part of Estonia’s continuous efforts to facilitate travel for the growing number of Chinese tourists, as well as business travellers.

In 2016, 55 per cent more visa applications were submitted in the Estonian consular officies and visa application centres than the year before, and the first six months of 2017 are showing a similar trend.

Applications for short-term visa can be handed over to all 15 centres in Beijing, Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Jinan, Kunming, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Shenzhen, Xi’an, Wuhan.
